Our Confined Space Entry service

Here at JTC Environmental we have a wealth of experience in confined space entry relating to areas that are exposed to potentially harmful gases. We provide this type of assistance when cleaning, rescuing or supporting existing projects that require a confined space entry team onsite with several key features to set us apart from competitors . In addition to being trained and qualified to the highest level, our engineers will always be accompanied by a skilled supervisor and will provide all the necessary PPE equipment themselves. All our engineers are first aid trained and come equipped with all the harnesses, ropes and breathing apparatus needed to complete a safe and compliant Confined Space Entry.

What is a confined space?

It can be any enclosed space where there is a risk of death or serious injury from hazardous substances or dangerous conditions (e.g. lack of oxygen). Some confined spaces are fairly easy to identify, e.g. enclosures with limited openings such as:
  • Culverts
  • Drains
  • Storage Tanks
  • Silos
  • Open topped chambers
  • Vessels
  • Combustion chambers in furnaces
  • Ductwork
  • Areas with limited ventilation
  • Deep sewer entry systems
  • Basements
However, It is not possible to list every confined space where a job may take place. Some places may become confined spaces when work is carried out, or during their construction, fabrication or subsequent modification so if you're unsure, get in touch with the team today.

Our confined space entry service includes:

  • The practice of safe systems at work
  • Site specific Risk and Method statement (RAMS)
  • The use of gas detection monitors to analyse and document environmental readings
  • Rescue plan
  • Fully qualified and competent staff to work within the space
